Muz Lee, born on January 26, 2006, in Wuhan, China, is an 19-year-old independent singer-songwriter and producer. At just 14, she released her first original song Fall into the Dark, which quickly surpassed 2 million streams. The song touched listeners around the world with its powerful blend of sorrow and hope—a signature quality of Muz’s songwriting. Her lyrics reflect calm yet profound thought, as she crafts music filled with emotional contrasts: mourning without despair, reflection without bitterness.
Now based in Los Angeles, Muz is studying Songwriting at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood. She recently released her debut album 李沐籽, featuring nine original tracks—all written, composed, arranged, and performed entirely by herself. Her work crosses stylistic boundaries and reflects a fearless commitment to artistic authenticity.
“I don’t confine myself to any one musical style,” she says. “What matters most to me is creating music I genuinely love. That, to me, is one of the most beautiful things in life.”
Would you like to share your experience participating in our competition and anyone you'd like to thank?
I’d like to sincerely thank my composition teacher at MI, Ken Zembello. Thank you for your guidance and for the assignments you gave me—without them, I might not have had the inspiration or opportunity to write Lost in the Sky, haha. I'm also deeply grateful to my school, to Chengdu Infinite Star Culture Media Company, and to all my friends who have supported me along the way.
It’s truly an honor to receive this award. I will continue to work hard and bring you even better music in the future.
