Clarinet Harmony and Passion: Claritet Quartet on Their Musical Journey

Clarinet Quartet Claritet was a Platinum Prize Winner in the Chamber Music Category, at the 2025 Season 1 Universal Stars Music Competition.
Can you introduce yourself and share how you got into music?
The quartet began its work in 2011. The members created this band due to their desire for quality and a relaxed implementation of chamber music at various events. The quartet consists of prof. Mitja Repnik, prof. Aljosa Pavlinc, prof. David Gregorc and prof. Rok Rupreht. We share the love of playing the clarinet, relaxation and joy to new insights and discoveries in music. We have gained musical experience in various musical ensembles, orchestras and Solo Concerts where we perform on a regulary basiss.
We operate as a Cultural Society Clarinet Quartet. Trough Music we try to represent Carinthia and share our music ideas in Europe and worldwide. With a relaxed, confident and innovative performance we wish the clarinet music comes closer to the audience. We are constantly packed with positive energy. We proudly walk on our musical path, not wondering where it goes, just walk on it.
Could you tell us more about your award-winning work? For instance, how did you prepare it, bring it to life, or any interesting stories behind the scenes?
The hardest step besides making music with our Quartet, is always to find a free gap to rehearse a new Program. It´s always interesting when you don´t see your Collegues quite a long time. Then a Idea comes to make oz Practise a new Piece. And after we start to rehearse the new piece we don´t talk much, because after all those years we share the same musical Ideas. Without even talking about it, we just look each other and share our musical ideas with our clarinet playing.
If i would start to write about interesting and funny stories of us, then the list would be veeeeeeery long! 😊
What do you believe defines a great clarinetist, and how do you incorporate your unique style into your music?
A great clarinetist combines technical skill with emotional expression, using tone, articulation, and breath control to bring the music to life. What makes someone truly stand out is their ability to interpret a piece with personal nuances and phrasing. Our unique style focuses on creating a warm, rich tone with subtle phrasing, allowing the music to breathe and reflect our emotions, while still respecting the piece's traditions. We proudly walk on our musical path, not wondering where it goes, just walk on it.
We think that your personality reflects the way you play as an individual or as a team player in the Quartett. Always respect the music and try to make the best out o fit.
Can you recall a memorable moment from your career that had a significant impact on you?
There have been so many wonderful moments that we shared on and off the stage together and every one of them has somehow left an impact and a memory on us.
I would say, the biggest reward after every concert that always has an impact ist the applauding audiece.
Would you like to share your experience participating in our competition and anyone you'd like to thank (such as mentors, supporters or other team members)?
We would like to recommend the competition to everyone that wants to try the competitive side of making music. You´re competition is very good organised and we are very happy that we have been a part o fit.
