Magicsoul duet was awarded the Gold Prize and Distinguished Creativity Special Award in the Music Video category of the 2025 Season 2 World Grand Prix International Music Contest.

When and why did you form your duo, and does playing music together hold a special meaning for you?

Our family duo has been created since music college studying in our home country Belarus. Last time we were working together as musicians for the atmosphere in the lobby of the Rixos Marina Hotel in Abu Dhabi. And of course the intersection of family and creative and work vectors allows for a more intense search for inspiration and energy to create both music videos and live play.

Could you share the inspiration behind and the overall concept of your music video “Nour El Ain”? Is there a story behind it?

The creation of this video is related to an attempt to touch the Arab musical culture. Also the choice of the song was connected with the nostalgia for the once popular in Russian-speaking and Latin countries Brazilian series “O Clone” transsiravshivlyavshim in the times of our childhood. And of course it was an interesting challenge for our thinking and classical stringed instruments to convey intense rhythm, very singsongy but energetic melodic line.

What was the production process like, and how did you aim to connect the music with the visual imagery?

Ideas to record a song and get footage in the desert, lived apart from each other for about a code. We wanted to visit the desert for a long time, and to combine this debut with a photo shoot. And closer to the date of the event, came the idea that we could try to record a short video on old Fujifilm camera in between shots of photosession and we remembered about the song Nour El Ain. There was no recording of the song yet.

We hastily recorded a sample audio, and it was with strong differences in structure and sound from the final audio, which made video editing very difficult of course. But, we got ready at once genuine emotions from the desert atmosphere, and the color of Fujifilm film simulation perfectly suited to the desert.

Next, we took some time to do a clean home audio recording, during which we looked for ways to create a dense but distinct and singsongy sound in the right reverb space, conveying the wild atmosphere of the landscape, and the understated poignancy of a love song.

Would you like to share your experience participating in our competition and anyone you'd like to thank?

We are certainly grateful and appreciative of the opportunity to participate in the WOMCO online competition. We consider it a great contribution to the motivation for further development.

It can and should also help participants strive to increase the quality of their creative output, contrary to the trend of social networks, which can direct artists towards increasing the quantity of material first and foremost.
