Ema Korvelaitė was awarded a Platinum Prize and the Extraordinary Technique Special Award in the Youth (Age 11–13) category, as well as a Gold Prize in the Modern A (Under Age 17) category during the 2025 Season 2 Universal Stars Music Competition.

Biography

Ema Korvelaitė is a 14-year-old vocalist from Lithuania. Music has been a part of her life for as long as she can remember, growing from a childhood joy into her greatest form of expression. She studies piano and cello at the Vilnius B. Dvarionas Music School, where she develops her musical ear, sensitivity, and discipline through both vocal and instrumental training.

Over the past few years, Ema has participated in a wide range of national and international vocal competitions. She has received First Place and Grand Prix awards in countries such as the United Kingdom, Italy, Latvia, Estonia, Greece, Spain, Cyprus, and Moldova. In cities like London, Rome, Riga, Tallinn, and Athens, she has had the chance to perform live on stage, gaining valuable experience in front of international audiences.

Ema is regularly invited to sing at city festivals, cultural events, and school celebrations. Her performances are often noted for their emotional honesty and strong interpretation. She has also appeared on national television, taking part in The Voice of Lithuania, where she had the opportunity to share her voice with a broader public and learn from a professional music production environment.

Outside of music, Ema plays competitive volleyball and has a strong interest in creative expression — from decorating home spaces to inventing new recipes in the kitchen. She is also a dedicated student, known for her curiosity and strong work ethic. Her efforts have been recognized with the Lithuanian Maximalist Scholarship, awarded to young talents who excel both artistically and academically.

Can you introduce yourself and share how you got into music?

Hi! I’m Ema Korvelaitė, I’m 14 years old and I’m from Lithuania. Music has always been a big part of my life — I started singing when I was really little, and I haven’t stopped since. It just felt natural, like breathing. Over time, singing became more than a hobby — it turned into something I can’t imagine my life without. I also play the cello and piano at the Vilnius B. Dvarionas Music School, which helps me feel music in a deeper way. My vocal coach Sonata Kudzmiene has taught me so much — not just about technique, but about putting my heart into every song.

Could you tell us more about your award-winning work?

"Je suis malade" is such a special song for me. It’s intense, emotional, and full of pain — and that’s exactly why I chose it. I wanted to tell that story, to let people feel every word. I spent a lot of time practicing not just the notes, but how to express what the song is really about. For me, singing is never just about sounding good — it’s about making someone else feel something real. If even one person gets goosebumps or feels understood because of my performance, then I’ve done my job. That’s what matters most to me.

Would you like to share your experience participating in our competition and anyone you'd like to thank?

I’m so thankful to the competition team for recognizing my performance and for sharing the results so beautifully on social media. It was such an honor to be part of it! I’m really grateful to my mom, who actually discovered this competition and sent in my song — I remember waiting for the results so nervously but hopefully. And a big thank-you to my vocal coach Sonata Kudzmiene, who helped me shape every part of the song and always believes in me, no matter what. I’m also so thankful to everyone who cheers me on — your support means more than I can say.
